Report on Business – November 2008

When the Vancouver Canucks retire Trevor Linden’s jersey in December, the former NHL star won’t have to look far to find some new duds. His wife, Cristina Linden, co-owns Basquiat, a Yaletown boutique that stocks an all-star collection of exclusive European and U.S. labels for men and women: slim-fitting trousers from Germany’s DryKorn ($330), buttery-leather jackets by Belstaff of Italy (from $1,475), as well as a sexy lineup of soft knit dresses, swingy silk tanks and impeccably cut cashmere jackets for women, from designers such as Ilaria Nistri, James Coviello and Jenni Kayne. No co-ed locker room has ever looked this chic.
